The most convenient coverage for the floors has long been considered linoleum. This is especially true for premises in which wet cleaning is often carried out. This material is also popular because its price is much lower than that of other flooring.
Types of linoleum
This flooring happens:
Burnal;
Heat and soundproofing.
In addition, linoleums differ in raw materials used in the production. Most often there are polymer coatings or PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Such linoleums can be with different foundations – heat -insulating, foamed or fabric. Recently, laminate is often laid by specialists, it is slightly different from linoleum.
Alkyd coatings have excellent sound and thermal insulation properties. They are made on a fabric basis with the addition of vegetable oils. There are linoleums made of synthetic rubber. They are called Relinov.
Lining linoleum
Before installing this coating, the floor should be carefully prepared. It should be clean and dry. Before laying linoleum, it is necessary to straighten it and let it lie down for several days. In this case, the temperature in the room should not be below 15 ° C.
If the linoleum must be connected, then the joints can be tucked with brackets, linoleum profiles or bilateral tape, and even better lubricate with special glue. After final styling, this material is fastened under skirting boards.
It is best to carry out fasteners a few weeks after laying, since linoleum will compress well to the floor surface. If there is no way to remove the skirting board, then linoleum can be fixed with a filler or graduateist. And then paint them to the color of the baseboard.
