The number of smartphones produced worldwide is constantly growing every year and has already reached the billionth value. Most devices are made in Asia. China has long ceased to be synonymous with low-quality technology, over the past few years, several Chinese brands have firmly established themselves in the mobile device market, which are quite capable of competing with such giants as HTC, Samsung, Nokia, etc.d. But the gray manufactory still exists – copies of branded devices of various prices and equipment are sold no worse than the originals. Demand creates supply: while cheap copies are in demand by users, no one will stop their production, and given the specifics of the Chinese economy, it is extremely difficult to argue about copyright infringement.

But fakes are also different, some are bought purposefully to save on the device, but at the same time have external prestige, while others accurately copy the original that they are issued for this original for almost the same price, thereby deceiving the buyer. In the Chinese smartphone market, the variety of all kinds of copies is limited only by the imagination of manufacturers. There are the cheapest copies here, similar only in external design and dimensions, but made of cheap materials and with a java operating system. There are more expensive ones, but which are still an order of magnitude cheaper than the original, most often these are copies of the iPhone, but on Android OS, and this category of copies varies so much that there are smartphones more powerful than the iPhone itself. The third category is the most dangerous – the most accurate copies. If you buy such a phone directly from China, then it will cost less than the original and the buyer will know that he is buying a replica, but if resellers come into play, such smartphones are often sold under the original label with a corresponding markup or at a price slightly less than the price of a branded device. Naturally, the factory warranty does not work on such a smartphone and in some points it can work worse than the original.
There are many different methods for detecting forgery, both direct and indirect. These include: comparison of screen resolution, the presence and functionality of the device’s sensors, the overall build quality, the materials from which the case is made, battery capacity, etc.d. But to authenticate by these parameters, you will need special software, skills, and some time. To simplify this task as much as possible, a special application was developed – AnTuTu Officer, which will help you check a suspicious Android device in just a couple of minutes.

The application comes absolutely free and is available for download from Google Play. After installation, AnTuTu Officer will ask for an update to download additional data about the device being checked. Then, a proposal will appear before the user to open the page of the Antutu web service through the browser on the desktop computer. A QR code will be provided there, which must be scanned by the camera of the device being checked. To do this, in the AnTuTu Officer application, you must click on the “Start” button and focus the camera on the area with the QR code.
After scanning the code, AnTuTu Officer will start to perform tests necessary to verify the authenticity of the device, the results of which will be uploaded to the AnTuTu web service. In this case, the page already open in the browser on the computer will automatically be updated and provide the result of the authentication. The resulting verdict can be saved in a convenient format or sent by mail.
