In the interior of each apartment there are optional, but beautiful pieces of furniture. These include poufs and banquettes. As a rule, they do not carry a special functional load, but they cannot be called a decorative element either. If you understand the terminology, then poufs are large pillows equipped with an internal frame for rigidity. And banquettes are rectangular elongated poufs on small legs. Banquets are sometimes called soft benches and are installed in the living room. It is very convenient, and making a banquette on your own is not such a difficult task.
Where to begin?
A bench is essentially a large stool with a soft seat. That’s why she does it the same way. First of all, you need to check the presence of all tools: electroplassic, clamp, glue, stapler. It is best to take hardwoods such as alder, birch or ash. Next you need a drawing. You can find a lot of templates on the Web, depending on the size of the future banquet. However, as already noted, it is very similar to a stool, therefore, remembering school labor lessons, you can easily make a drawing yourself.
Process
So, having prepared the tools, you can begin to prepare the details. The basis for the seat will be a furniture board – a polished wooden frame of the required size. It can be purchased at carpentry workshops, and it is inexpensive. Next, you need to cut out the drawers – strips that will connect the legs of the banquette, and also make blanks for the legs. For the first experience, it is better not to experiment with carved legs, since the design may turn out to be unstable or skewed. After polishing all the workpieces, you can proceed to gluing. It is necessary to start with paired products – legs and tsar.
The seat itself is made like this: a fabric is placed on the table with the wrong side up, foam rubber and a shield are placed on top of it. A load is installed in the center, the fabric is folded along the edges and attached to the shield with a stapler or BF-88 glue. The finished seat is attached to the base with self-tapping screws or glue. Everything!
In addition to the banquette in the living room, you can make bookcases yourself. Made in the same style, they diversify the interior and make it original and unique.
